Where is Crystal Waters & Villas? We are on Elbow Cay (pronounced "key"), a small island just to the east of the town of Marsh Harbour on Great Abaco Island. We claim World Renown Hope Town as our "town".
How do we get there? Fly from many airports in Florida, including Melbourne, Orlando, Daytona Beach, West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. You will fly into Marsh Harbour airport. From the airport, take a taxi to the ferry dock or to your rental boat agency. The Hope Town ferry leaves at regular intervals. When on the ferry, the ferry Captain will call for our caretakers (We'll provide this information upon booking). Our caretakers will meet you at the dock and take you to Crystal Waters or Crystal Villas. If you are on your own boat, most agencies can direct you to our dock and you contact the caretaker on the VHF who will meet you.
What about groceries? There are several grocery stores for your convenience. Marsh Harbour has a larger one, more like we are used to. Hope Town also has 2 grocery stores which can meet all your needs. If you have a favorite food, bring it. You may not find all the particular snacks that your used to. We always pack a cooler. You can bring anything in already frozen and it will last! Don't put ice in your cooler, though, the airline won't take it. No fresh fruit or vegetables either, but cooked is fine! There are also 2 liquor stores on Elbow Cay, or you can stop in Marsh Harbour before you head over. Remember prices are higher here than the states, all items are imported in.
What should I pack? Pack lightly! This is a very casual island. Shorts and tops, sun dresses, light clothing for the summer months. Don't forget your bathing suit! The winter months can range from warm to cool. Bring a light jacket or sweater. When the winds blow, it can get a little cool.
