On Saturday, September 1, 2019, Hurricane Dorian made its very first landfall at Elbow Cay in the Abacos. As a Category 5 hurricane with 185 mph winds, Dorian became the strongest storm on record to ever hit the Bahamas.
Once the hurricane made landfall, it hovered over the Abacos and Grand Bahama for 48 long hours, wreaking havoc on the country.
So much was destroyed by Hurricane Dorian. The one thing that hurt the most was the amount of lives Dorian took with it. Property can be rebuilt but those lives are forever lost. Our hearts and prayers will always be with those families who lost loved ones to the horrific storm.
Through the last two and a half years, we have had so many guests, friends and families continue to check on us and we cannot thank you enough. We are happy to say that we finally have the finish line in sight and we will be taking reservations for July 2022 (We are still waiting on generator repairs and the internet to be set up). We are excited to welcome all of you back to our home on the beautiful, strong island of Elbow Cay.
